Mantic Poetry

Lasher Keen’s new album, “Mantic Poetry, Oracular Prophecy” is not only a brilliant, wonderfully strange collection of pagan-influenced neo-folk music (they are one of my favorite bands), but the cover art features my favorite mushrooms!

The song “Climbing the World Tree” even makes a sly reference to Amanita:

“We begin below where the mushrooms grow
Where the hairs on the roots tickle the nose
Of the poet whose fate slumbers in the shade
Of the brother of birch, the red speckled knave
I have finally reached the first branch of the tree”
